What does the city's civil-registration service do?
Tuzla's Služba za opću upravu i zajedničke poslove performs general administrative and civil-registration functions. It is not the cemetery administrator. Civil status concerns official registration, whereas the operator of the actual burial ground confirms the plot, appointment and reception arrangements.
A death registered abroad remains evidenced by the foreign death certificate and the transport record required for Bosnia and Herzegovina. Local registration does not replace either. Names and personal details must nevertheless be consistent so that later entries and the cemetery file identify the same person without ambiguity.
What matters for reception at Drežnik cemetery?
The official city decision identifies Drežnik as the central municipal cemetery and names JKP Komemorativni centar Tuzla as its administrator. A case for that site therefore connects the grave reference, applicant and receiving contact to this company's records. The city name by itself does not amount to accepted reception.
An existing family grave and a new allocation begin from different positions. The former requires a register check; the latter first requires a decision about what is available under current rules. A private agreement about the ceremony is not a substitute for that administrative confirmation.
Which body confirms each part of the case?
The file connects three records: foreign registration of death, the sprovodnica and the Tuzla cemetery file. Each has a different issuer. The table describes the ordinary relationship; an investigation or other public procedure may introduce further release documents.
| Document or detail | Confirming body | Role at reception |
|---|---|---|
| Sprovodnica | competent mission of Bosnia and Herzegovina | permits transport to the stated place of burial |
| Foreign death certificate | authority at the place of death | establishes identity and registered death |
| Civil-status detail in Tuzla | competent municipal registration service | supports subsequent local registration |
| Grave and recipient | administrator of the selected cemetery | prepares physical reception and burial |
What changes when the destination is not Drežnik?
Another burial ground may be administered by a municipal, religious or separate local organisation. The Drežnik operator is not automatically responsible. The site's official name, the community or body maintaining it, and the person accepting original documents are identified before the receiving file is treated as complete.
This matters where relatives provide only a village or mahala name. A broad destination is not converted into a supposed central-city address. The international application uses the confirmed burial place so that the diplomatic mission and local recipient work from the same destination.
Why are later issues of the official gazette reviewed?
Municipal decisions can be amended or replaced. A published issue provides the precise legal text, while the city's gazette register reveals whether later editions have followed. A current case is therefore checked against the official publication sequence rather than a single isolated PDF.
If a change is unclear, ask the cemetery which office holds the grave record before applying. An old form does not establish current responsibility.
Does the country of death change the Tuzla cemetery record?
The foreign country determines its own release and outward transport document. A death in Germany follows a documentary route different from one in a state using another form. Tuzla's cemetery office still verifies its own information: the deceased, applicant, grave and proposed appointment.
Application of the Strasbourg Agreement is checked against the official treaty list for the states involved. It does not replace local burial records. Membership of the European Union likewise does not turn transport of a deceased person into ordinary passenger movement.
Which details support a reliable arrival plan?
Initial information includes the country, city and institution of death, passport details, official release, the precise Tuzla cemetery and receiving person. A Drežnik case is connected to JKP Komemorativni centar; a different location is assigned to its own administrator. We provide the first response within 10 minutes.
Arrival within 48 hours is planned for a procedurally clear case. An unresolved register entry or foreign investigation may alter the start. No appointment is invented in response: the missing public or local decision is obtained before the documentary status is updated.

Frequently asked questions
Who administers the central municipal cemetery at Drežnik?
The official decision names JKP Komemorativni centar Tuzla as its administrator.
Is Drežnik the destination for every arrival in Tuzla?
No. Another cemetery has its own competent local or religious administration.
Does the city civil registrar also maintain the grave file?
Not necessarily. Civil registration and administration of a burial plot are separate functions.
Must the intended burial area be stated for the sprovodnica?
The permit is processed for the individual case and the destination identified in its application.
Why may one older city gazette be insufficient?
Later issues may amend the decision, replace it or assign responsibility to another organisation.
